Process Design Engineer – About the Role

As a Process Design Engineer, you will lead and deliver high-quality engineering designs that meet stringent industry standards. Your role will involve working closely with a talented Engineering Design Team, ensuring that all technical outputs are robust, compliant, and optimised for success. You will also mentor junior engineers, guiding them through complex projects and fostering a culture of excellence.

Process Design Engineer – Key Responsibilities

Lead the creation of technical design outputs with a focus on quality, compliance, and innovation.
Act as the discipline lead on key projects, providing strategic direction and technical oversight.
Develop and optimise designs that are both cost-effective and buildable, ensuring they meet the highest safety and environmental standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design activities with procurement and on-site operations.
Drive the adoption of digital design tools and promote continuous improvement within the team.
Mentor and develop early-career engineers, helping to build the next generation of engineering talent. Process Design Engineer – What You Need to Succeed

Extensive experience in process calculations, mass and heat balances, and hydraulic design.
Proficiency in developing process block diagrams, PFDs, and P&IDs.
Leadership experience in HAZOP and DSEAR is advantageous.
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
Chartered Engineer status or a commitment to achieving it is preferred. Process Design Engineer – Qualifications

A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
A proven track record in the water and wastewater sector, with a deep understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
