The Principal Software Engineer - Digital Experience will be responsible for developing and evolving our web experience platform that serves as the foundation for accelerating the design and delivery of 80+ external facing websites supporting the US Commercial business unit.

This role will have a direct impact on driving our vision for enabling the best web experiences for our patients and healthcare professionals. We're looking to identify a highly skilled engineer who can work multi-functionally to translate business needs into workable technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, producing both detailed technical work and high-level architectural design and vision.

  • Lead the architecture design, development, and evolution of our web experience platform, including defining the technical architecture, selecting the right technologies, and ensuring the system is scalable, reliable, and secure.

  • Design, build and enhance existing components in our internal REACT component library.

  • Design, build and optimize data-driven personalize experiences.

  • Collaborate with product teams, designers, and engineers to understand their requirements, and provide guidance on how to best leverage the platform to deliver great user experiences.

  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and leadership, and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the platform integrates seamlessly with other systems, and that all dependencies are well-managed.

  • Lead code reviews, architecture discussions, and other technical forums, and provide valuable input that helps drive the evolution of our engineering practices.

  • Work with external vendors and partners to evaluate third-party solutions and ensure seamless integration into the existing technology stack.

  • Lead the implementation of DevOps practices, automation pipelines, and CI/CD processes using modern tools and frameworks to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.

  • Develop communication material, value props and high-level strategic justification to help explain the why of technical platform recommendations/decisions to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in web technology, AI and personalization, design systems, and user experience. Apply this knowledge to drive innovation and competitive differentiation.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems.

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years specialized in digital platform development.

  • 2+ years as a technical lead for a platform aligned with multiple application teams

  • 2+ years of experience working in a technical leadership role on one or more agile teams in a product model

  • Experience with front-end web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience working with modern web frameworks such as React.

  • Experience building components/frameworks within content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager.

  • Experience with server-side development in Node.js

  • Experience with coding best practices for responsive and adaptive design, cross-browser compatibility, WCAG 2.1 accessibility, and technical SEO.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and product management tools such as JIRA or Aha!

  • Experience with design systems and their relationship to coded experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • AEM Architect certification

  • Experience with Adobe Target

  • Experience with Git

  • Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of engineers.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with building pharma HCP and consumer website experiences.

  • Experience with modern design system platforms, such as Knapsack, Zero Height, or Supernova.

  • Experience with building digital products involving regulatory requirements

  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.

  • Experience creating digital platforms that enable data-driven experiences / personalization
