Job Description

Position Overview

As a Heavy Civil Estimator you will be responsible for creating precise cost estimates, reviewing project specifications, and collaborating with vendors and subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects within budget. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical abilities, a deep understanding of the San Antonio construction market, and a proven track record in estimating for heavy civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates based on project plans, labor requirements, material costs, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain competitive pricing and secure the best possible contracts.
  • Analyze and compile comprehensive project reports to support project teams and clients.
  • Stay informed about local construction market trends, material pricing, and applicable regulations in the San Antonio area to ensure project accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on heavy civil projects.
  • Proficiency with construction estimating software (such as ProEst, PlanSwift) and strong Excel skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of San Antonio construction costs, local building codes, and market conditions.
