The position
Today, we're looking for a Senior Accountant to support the accounting needs of our growing portfolio of clients. An exceptional accountant - one who can see the big picture and put themselves in the clients' shoes. In the Senior Accountant role, you will have a few responsibilities that compete with your time, so managing that time and setting realistic expectations with staff and clients is critically important. These responsibilities include; reviewing lead schedules, financial statements, and other ad-hoc reporting produced by our team of staff accountants, serving as the subject matter expert on accounting updates, identifying processes ripe for improvement, and maintaining regular contact with clients. Success in this role requires experience, confidence, empathy, open-mindedness, and a problem solver, who (perhaps most importantly) is a clear and effective communicator.

You have the opportunity to...
- Review journal entries, lead schedules, and account reconciliations for appropriateness, accuracy, and completeness.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis and perform flux-analysis
- Standing monthly temperature checks with clients, identifying opportunities to provide greater value
- Research, understand, and apply complex accounting concepts (ASC 606, 718, 842, etc.)
- Support external partners from audit to tax
- Mentor staff
- Ad hoc reporting/analysis as needed.
- 5+ years of full GL accounting experience with AP, AR, bank reconciliations, payroll, monthly close & financial reporting
- Demonstrated application of GAAP guidance
- Experience with consolidations, international subsidiaries
- BS/BA degree, accounting preferred, CPA a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be a team player and self-motivated
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- MS Excel/Google Sheets - High proficiency
- Experience with basic tenets of sales tax and income tax
- Experience with Quickbooks, Xero, NetSuite
- Management experience
