Construction Buyer

We are looking for an additional Buyer to join our Procurement Team. This is a full time, permanent, office based role based at our Head Office in Salford with site visits when required.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a buying role within the construction sector, strong negotiation and communication skills. They will have the ability to evaluate supplier bids, a good level of construction material knowledge and be able maintain vendor relationships. A high level of attention to detail is required and they will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment. They will also be proficient with MS office and ideally have previous experience of COINS software, although training will be provided for this if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing and purchasing materials, products, and services required for construction projects
• Building relationships with suppliers, evaluating and negotiating prices
• Monitoring and reporting on materials budgets for projects
• Assessing performance of suppliers to ensure they are meeting demand
• Ensuring materials meet required specifications
• Managing expectations and communicating with project managers on a daily basis

There will be a two stage interview process for the role consisting of an informal telephone interview and a face to face interview with the Procurement Manager, working towards a start date of 6th Jan 2025. References will be required.
