Who You Are


You are a resilient, highly motivated, and well-organized individual with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels. You hold a minimum of a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and are a registered IOSH member. You possess a good knowledge of current and proposed health and safety legislation and codes of practice, with a practical approach to interpreting legislation. Your expertise extends across proactive health and safety management, advising on health and safety issues, premises or facilities management, occupational health and/or environmental health issues, health and safety training, and conducting and managing health and safety audits.



What the Job Involves


The role involves supporting management to develop and maintain a proactive health and safety culture within the council. You will focus on auditing, development, and implementation of health and safety management systems, performance indicators, and statistical analysis. Key responsibilities include providing advice, guidance, and support on policies and legislative requirements, assisting in the development and delivery of training programs, conducting accident investigations, and preparing reports. You will play a lead role in corporate and schools health and safety management, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management, and promoting best practices throughout the organization. Additionally, you'll work on contractor evaluation and management, support the development of policies and guidance, and contribute to strategic forums and health and safety projects.
