Director of Quality Assurance

Description:

This position will have a direct oversight of the Quality Assurance organization. Responsible for providing strategic direction, development, and program evaluations to ensure the incoming and existing inventory, from raw material to finished product as well as related processes meet the quality, integrity and efficiency standards set by the organization.

Responsibilities:

Maintains QA scorecards for vendors. Sets requirements for batch inspections, FAIs and Return to Vendor (RTV) criteria.
Sets up procedures for in-line and End of the Line (EOL) inspections
Audits automated EOL testing procedures on regular basis and communicates issues with Engineering and Manufacturing
Oversees out-of-box audits and reports on its results to the cross functional leadership team.
Analyzes the data gathered from QA supervisors daily to identify problems in its early stages and alert appropriate departments.
Develops and maintains robust Quality Alert system and works with manufacturing to ensure the corrective actions are implemented.
Sets up audit frequencies and regularly updates allowable parameters based on the audit results.
Designs and implements QA policies and procedures for finished products, parts and sub-assemblies.
Leads the development of quality standards and protocols for the department
Trains and coaches the department on best QA practices. Empowers team members to identify and bring forward issues regarding products or processes.
Takes part in FRACAS and implements inspection criteria in support of corrective actions
Leads Kaizen events within the department in support of company goals.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Management.
Minimum of 7 years proven experience in managing end-to-end quality in medium to large size organization.
Experience in implementing processes from the ground up.
Strong knowledge of TQM (Total Quality Management) principles and Lean Six Sigma.
Outstanding analytical skills; able to draw inference from large amounts of scattered data to identify problems early and alert with proper control procedures.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
