Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Organizes, counts and replenishes designated par-level and Kanban supply areas and linen inventories to appropriate levels. Back fills omnicells to ensure that inventory is correctly labeled, protecting the integrity of sterile supplies. Rotates stock in accordance with fifo (first in, first out) protocol.
Pulls and fills storeroom inventory requisitions accurately, as required.
Distributes storeroom inventoried/department special order supplies and linens to appropriate areas at established schedules.
Picks-up soiled linens and patient equipment following procedures for both personal protection and safety & health of others, delivering to appropriate staging areas. Ensures all carts are properly loaded, according to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
Assists in maintaining storeroom and department par-level supply and linen inventories, using appropriate information systems applications as required. Continuously monitors supply levels, communicating discrepancies and/or inadequate levels to supervisor as necessary.
Replenishes all inventoried supplies/linens into proper locations, rotating stock as necessary. Follows established inventory re-order levels.
Handles the distribution of refrigerated overnight/rush shipments appropriately and expeditiously.
Responds to pages for special requests for storeroom supplies, linens and patient equipment appropriately and expeditiously using handheld devises for issuing and delivering.
Cleans, refills and maintains integrity of adult and pediatric crash carts and endo boxes; assumes final responsibility for cart documentation, expiration dates and completeness.
Responsible for ensuring incoming and outgoing linen is accounted for and weighed.
Organizes and straightens inventory storage location, breaks down and discards boxes; maintains the work area(s) in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
Clean Supply Chain managed patient equipment once equipment is picked up from patient floors.
Checks & pulls opened, damaged, expired, and/or excess inventory and replaces unusable, damaged, or dirty boxes/packaging labels, etc. Handles defective, damaged, and/or expired inventory in accordance with established departmental policy.
Participates in taking physical inventories and/or cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory control.
Stays abreast of technological changes in supply chain systems as upgraded or installed to replace existing practices.
Must complete Supply Tech II exposure training plan within first year of employment. Following completion may be intermittently assigned to Supply Tech II duties to float as needed. Will be paid Supply Tech II rate when working in that capacity.

Under supervision, responsible for basic supply ordering and replenishment, restocking of clean and removal of soiled linen. Respond appropriately and timely to department special requests for supplies, linen and Supply Chain managed patient equipment (i.e., infusion pumps, syringe pumps, etc.). Deliver and distribute department special orders. Maintain order and cleanliness of storeroom and linen room. Stocking of crash carts.
Education:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Experience:
6 months of experience in any one or combination of the following: supply chain-related distribution, warehousing, shipping, receiving, logistics, material handling, linen, inventory control, or other comparable service line required.
Hospital/health care experience in distribution or warehousing preferred.
License/Certification:
Valid Driver's License preferred.
Skill:
Proficient in written and verbal English language. Requires the knowledge and use of arithmetic including fractions and decimals.
Skill:
Self-motivated to organize & prioritize own work to insure daily workload is completed; ability to react and perform under stress and emergency situations; and ability to exercise some judgment in work environment.
Ability to use proper body mechanics in order to lift 50 lbs. and push, pull, or otherwise move in a controlled manner linen carts up to 500 lbs. utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment, up to 20% of work time.
Functional computer knowledge with basic level of keyboarding skills.
Basic knowledge of medical supplies & equipment terminology required
