As a Technical Information Engineer, you'll play a key role within the Technical Documentation team, responsible for creating, preparing, and validating technical documentation essential to BAE Systems' success. You'll ensure technical data and documentation specifications meet company standards, are comprehensive, and are ready for subcontractor use. This role involves collaboration across engineering, supply chain, support, and training functions.

Role Overview
As a Technical Information Engineer, you'll play a key role within the Technical Documentation team, responsible for creating, preparing, and validating technical documentation essential to BAE Systems' success. You'll ensure technical data and documentation specifications meet company standards, are comprehensive, and are ready for subcontractor use. This role involves collaboration across engineering, supply chain, support, and training functions.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyse delivery requirements across the entire scope of information delivery.
- Produce integrated training and technical documentation requirements.
- Review and validate OEM manuals for editorial content; prepare reports for Senior Technical Documentation Engineer.
- Conduct editorial reviews and ensure production specifications are clear for subcontracted production.
- Maintain accurate records and control data configuration within the database for ship systems and equipment.
- Ensure documentation meets quality standards and production processes and is completed on schedule.
- Provide progress updates, including feedback on tasks and potential impact on budget, delivery, or quality.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including IPS and design teams, to confirm the accuracy of technical data.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with S1000D.
- Strong grasp of technical documentation within the Integrated Product Support (IPS) discipline.
- Experience in information management and support engineering.
- Familiarity with naval ship design and development (preferred).
- Effective communication skills for technical discussions with both internal and external customers.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, XML, SGML, and S1000D.
