Job Description

Are you a proactive leader with a strong background in vehicle rental and logistics? Do you have the skills to manage multiple locations and ensure high standards are maintained across a network? If so, we want you to join our team as a Branch Support Manager!

About the Role:

As a Branch Support Manager, you will be the go-to person for delivering seamless operational coverage across all our sites in the UK, particularly during periods of holiday, staff shortages, or branch management vacancies. Your mission will be to uphold exceptional service levels while driving profitable operations and contributing to the development of our business. Although this role will involve travel to our sites all over the UK, the position itself is based at our Milton Keynes office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential cover across the network, assisting the Operations Manager in auditing and supporting branches
  • Train new starters and monitor their progress, setting action plans and following up across the network
  • Ensure that DGV values are maintained at every location
  • Guide local staff to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and business ethics standards
  • Lead local business development by engaging with depot staff and motivating hire desk personnel
  • Liaise with branch and Head Office to ensure national policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Lead by example, ensuring all staff cooperate to the highest standards in the best interests of customers and colleagues
  • Support the Operations Manager with key projects and tasks as required

Complexities handled:

  • Balancing local and national priorities to maximize business opportunities
  • Ensuring compliance with national policies across all branches
  • Effectively managing your time to provide adequate cover across the UK
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships across business units
  • Identifying and nurturing potential talent within the network

What We're Looking For:

  • A full, clean, and valid driving license
  • Proven experience in meeting quarterly targets
  • A deep understanding of the vehicle rental industry and rental systems
  • Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, or distribution is preferred
  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to adapt to various transport-related duties
  • A track record of success in customer-facing roles and managing small, multi-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and solid working relationships at all levels
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a hands-on, can-do management style
