Junior Electrical Estimator (Ref JEE1124) Irwin M&E is driven by values based on loyalty, safety, innovation and success Job Specification Position: Junior Electrical Estimator Department: Mechanical & Electrical Projects Division Reporting to: Commercial Director Status of post:Full-Time Permanent Salary: Remuneration Package will be competitive and in line with experience Location:NI Office Based Role Provide accurate nett cost tenders for all sizes of electrical installation projects Identify opportunities to enable Irwin M&E to gain a competitive edge on tenders Build relationships with main contractors and clients bid teams Main Duties and Responsibilities As Junior Electrical Estimator within the Projects Division you will be expected to demonstrate an excellent level of technical knowledge, including a good working knowledge of Electrical installations. The main duties and responsibilities include: Evaluate bid requirements from tender documentation, drawings and specifications Accurately complete quantity take-offs and measurements from tender drawings Produce tenders that are accurate, competitive and compliant Identify and effectively assess any risks within the tender bid Preparation of estimate summary reports Negotiate optimum prices from suppliers and subcontractors Identify value engineering opportunities Participate in handover of successful bids to the Project Delivery Team Prepare quantified schedule of rates documents Cost variation works on live projects for submission to the client/main contractor Person Specification Behaviours Expected Self-starter Positive in all dealings with the directors, management team and staff Demonstrate sound technical awareness Commercial awareness Detailed care and attention to every detail of a tender Understanding our clients needs and building lasting relationships from this understanding Innovative and forward-thinking approach to each tender Courtesy and respect for each team member Good personal organisation, honesty, communication, ownership, reliability and dependability Praise and recognition of individuals and the team for a job well done Ability to work to tight deadlines Criteria Essential Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to work to a plan to avoid disappointments Good interpersonal skills to create meaningful reciprocal relationships with both colleagues and clients Excellent communication, leadership, motivational and people skills Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc. Desirable Time served electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Experience in similar role, with a proven track record and experience in all aspects of Electrical installations Proficient in Trimble (Amtech) Estimating Software (or a similar package) Use of specialist software packages such as Amtech, AutoDesk products and the like The Company Offers Ongoing training and development opportunities Working alongside experts in their field Health cash plan including compensation for dentistry and optical well being Team building and activity days Monthly employee value-based recognition award monetary gift Health, wellbeing and social calendar of events Long service awards This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Irwin M&Es continual growth.
