Job Description

Earthworks / Civil Engineering - Quantity Surveyor - Bristol

Your new company We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join an Earthworks' contractor that has been established for over 60 years, providing Earthworks, Quarrying and Civil Engineering solutions to blue-chip clients across the UK.
Your new role The role will include the assistance and support of existing commercial team in:Regular & diligent review/summary of site records/diary’s/allocations & compilation to ensure timely and accurate presentation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.Prompt presentation of applications for payment, including contractual entitlements.Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms and correctly allocated with accounts department.Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract and materials orders.Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.Commercial support to the site and contracts management team.Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information, including building/maintaining relationships

What you'll need to succeed HND or BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.Minimum 2 years experience post-education experience.

  • Civil Engineering experience is beneficial but not essential.
Familiar with construction contracts and how to administer them at a project levelExperience in cost management and forecasting
  • Must be confident when liaising with key stakeholders i.e. clients / consultants.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office programmes
