Job Description
National Account Manager
£55k plus £7k Car and package

Are you looking for a role with a mix of account management and new business development working with strong brands? This role is ideal for those who thrive off the pace and challenge involved in the FMCG sector.
The client has a progressive Senior Team and have expanded into multiple market areas. This role is an additional new role in foodservice to meet that growth and continue the success already achieved.
The team are hoping to attract an ambitious commercial candidate who can demonstrate previous success in growing existing relationships with an eye for developing new opportunities. The NBD element will take up a third of the role and there is a wider team of experience and knowledge to draw on for support.
This opportunity is ideal for an Account Manager or National Account Manager who has operated in the foodservice sector and can grow on their existing network, knowledge and market awareness.
The role will involve meeting with the team in the North West weekly.
The business:
Known for their existing brands and innovative/creative product development.
Clear examples of succession planning and career development.
Balanced work/life approach.
Positive, inclusive, upbeat culture with long serving teams.
Competitive package.
Other areas to highlight for this National Account Manager role:
The role is a mix of Account Management and New Business Development. There are long standing customers in place and expanding those relationships will be a key part of this role.
A third of the role will be developing new business and, with strong support and knowledge in the background, there is the opportunity to make your mark and attract fresh customers.
This is a close knit team, ideas are shared, there is a common goal and a genuine collaborative and supportive culture.
As with all commercial roles, a yearly commercial plan needs to be agreed with the Commercial Director.
Budgets to include volumes, price, cost and margin.
NPD is a strong focus for this business so working closely with the development team is crucial for this role.
In summary, your background must include:
Commercial experience as a Junior National Account Manager or maybe you are at the National Account Manager level and looking for a change.
A genuine interest in food and the industry would be an advantage but not essential.
Ideally a background in foodservice with demonstrable delivery in a commercial role.
Previous experience in FMCG or food product categories where you have been the point of contact, able to build relationships and network effectively in the sector.
Good with numbers and able to interpret sets of data and budgets.
Confident in your approach contacting new customers and internally to grow those all-important relationships.
Professional negotiation skills. Training is provided on a formal basis and with experienced members of the commercial and leadership team to build on skills already developed.
An upbeat and open personality. Eager to think differently and challenge the norm.
This client pride themselves on their standards in career development and working with individuals to maximise their potential. Even if you can't demonstrate all the above but have proven commercial ability, do still get in contact with the Novus Team
