Children's Residential Support Worker Salary Package up to £33,898

Job Overview

Join our team as a Children's Residential Support Worker, starting at £11.50 - £13.00 per hour (based on competency criteria), with the opportunity to earn extra through premium sleep-in shifts at £62.55 (minimum one per week) and regular overtime paid between £14.00 - £15.50 per hour.

The Role of a Children's Residential Support Worker:

Our 4-bed childrens residential home provides year-round, 52-week care in a welcoming, homely setting in a well-established residential area. We are dedicated to supporting children with learning and physical disabilities, as well as those with associated behaviours. We work closely with families and professionals to offer learning, independence-building, andmost importantlyfun experiences for the children.

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a rotating shift schedule, including early shifts, late shifts, long days, alternate weekends, and sleep-in requirements. Youll work alongside the management team to maintain a safe and positive environment that enriches the lives of the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities of a Children's Residential Support Worker:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and stable home life for each young person.
  • Empower young people to achieve their individual goals, grow in confidence, and develop independence.
  • Be a positive role model and uphold the dignity and respect of young people at all times.
  • Deliver sensitive, appropriate care that promotes equality and diversity.
  • Support the smooth operation of the service in cooperation with your team.
  • Ensure the health and educational needs of the young people are met.
  • Help young people build essential life skills for future independence.
  • Plan and take part in leisure activities with the young people.
  • Take on keyworker or co-keyworker responsibilities as needed.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications & Experience

Successful candidates will ideally have:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Social Care Pathway).
  • Experience working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairments, or complex behavioural needs. We also welcome applications from those with experience in EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) settings.
