Support Worker|Birkenhead|Full Time hours available, Contract, Permanent|£12.30 per hour- £102.96 sleep in rate
Since 2002, our client has supported service users in semi-independent living across eight premises. A team of 48 staff members provides support for service users with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, physical and sensory impairments, and addiction challenges. The premises offer both shared and individual living options, with sleep-in staff overnight and daily support, plus an additional outreach service.
Our client prioritises person-centred care and fosters staff growth through open communication, training, and supervision. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, the role requires flexibility, including weekends and on-call shifts (about once every 23 days). A driver with business insurance is preferred due to outreach calls, but non-drivers are also considered.
Previous experience and a minimum Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification are desirable. Employment is subject to a DBS check, references, and a 6-month probationary period. If hired, you will complete two days of eLearning, followed by a two-week shadowing induction and receive regular reviews during your first eight weeks.

Role Requirements
- A full UK Drivers Licence & own vehicle is required.
- Prior experience working in the social care sector would be an advantage
- You must have the right values and empathetic attitudes to enable you to support, understand and empower those that use our services
- You must have at least a level 2 Health and Social Care qualification or a similar qualification. Relevant life skills will also be considered
- If you have not completed the Care Certificate you must also work towards achieving this in your first three months of employment
Role Responsibilities
- You will work as part of a team and lone work
- You will support service users to live independently, working person centred to meet their individual needs, promote independence and motivate
- You will put service users at the centre of their own care and support
- You will support service users to access meaningful activities and complete day to day living tasks such as shopping, practical tasks, environmental hygiene, medication, personal care, finances, social activities, emotional listening, supporting meaningful relationships, work, education and more
