Job Description
Addison Project has been providing external project management services for decades, offering construction management expertise and support, Construction Design Management (CDM), Health Safety & Environment sustainability and quality (HSSEQ) direction and commissioning and start-up as part of our services. We continually develop and refine our UKAS accredited systems, procedures and specifications for the management and control of engineering, procurement and construction projects in the manufacturing and process industry.

Working Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours, core hour working with flexible start
and finish times.

The Role:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join Addison as part of our team in our Head Office, Thornton-Cleveleys. Working with minimal supervision you will join an established team delivering a range of projects within the manufacturing and process industries. At Adison Project, we collaborate with a diverse range of clients, including top-tier chemical, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage companies, as well as multinational corporations. The types of projects you will work on include: EPCM Projects: Developing new local chemical production facilities. Continuous Improvement Projects: Implementing small to medium-sized enhancements in industrial facilities to accommodate process changes and the introduction of new products. Manufacturing Plant Modernisation: Upgrading manufacturing plants to boost efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Concept and Design Studies: Creating comprehensive studies to help clients make informed decisions on projects exceeding £100 million.
The role primarily focuses on the technical aspects of project execution where you will be responsible for progress reporting, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing essential project documentation (TQs, RFIs, Change Orders). Therefore, we are seeking candidates with EC&I, Mechanical or Chemical Process Engineering experience and qualifications.
You will work on all phases of the project, coordinating project elements including mechanical, electrical civil/ structural and process engineering design, quality planning, installation, commissioning, and handover phases.
You will be expected to:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans and objectives
* Conduct research and analysis to determine project feasibility and requirements
* Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
* Coordinate and oversee the work of team members and external contractors
* Monitor project progress, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions
* Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and standards
* Provide technical support and guidance to team members throughout the project lifecycle
* Participate in design reviews and make recommendations for improvements
* Ensure compliance with engineering standards, best practices, and client requirements
* Drive the project schedule and coordinates with various engineering disciplines to maintain momentum and ensure technical coherence
About you:
* It is essential you have experience of managing small to medium sized projects on chemical / petrochemical, pharmaceutical, oil&gas or COMAH sites,
* You must be able to provide proven experience of project engineering or project management
* You must possess a minimum of HNC in an engineering discipline preferably a degree
* Project engineering skills with planning & organising capability and attention to detail, is key for this role.
* You must have experience of using office packages to managing budgets and resources, preferably within a design team.
* You should also have experience of interpreting customer requirement and converting these into deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
* Ability to liaise with clients to understand their requirements and then convert them into deliverables.
