A day in the life of a Murphy, Senior SHES Advisor
Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their responsibilities for the SHES of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Legislation and Company Procedures.
Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
Carry out regular assurance activities of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions and as planned.
Lead and participate in accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
Collate & review Business / Contract SHES statistics in a timely manner and submit to the SHES Management & SHES function for reporting purposes.
Help develop and implement SHES campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the SHES Management.
Review SHES plans and ensure that they cover sufficient identification of risks and mitigation, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.
dentify significant SHES issues for contracts / yards and help set-up contracts / yards to include appropriate controls.
Carry out site inductions and other training as required. Along with internal and external audits as required.
Provide visible SHES support on the project

Working knowledge of either rail or civil engineering interfaces and practices and ideally have worked on large scale rail/ civil projects
SHES membership ie. NEBOSH qualified along with CDM 2015 knowledge
Network Rail Standards (ideally)
