Job Description

Project Manager - Ballynahinch

Summary

As part of the National Trust team in Northern Ireland you'll be working on a large-scale partnership project which seeks to take a collaborative, long term, strategic approach to build a positive and sustainable future for Lough Neagh.
Working closely with DAERA and a range of public, private and third sector organisations you will define and develop a number of deliverables which will fill in the gaps in our knowledge, create the necessary frameworks and develop the recommendations for partners and communities to move forward together.

What it's like to work here

You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, archaeologists, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen.

Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at Rowallane Garden, Saintfield. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust or partner locations.

What you'll be doing

This project is about developing and delivering a joined up approach and a pathway to recovery for Lough Neagh and its communities.
You'll lead the day-to-day delivery of this project including building partnerships, commissioning a multidisciplinary team, and being an integral part of the development of recommendations and plans in order to inform future policy and decision making for Lough Neagh and it’s catchment.
You'll have a small project team to support you, and there'll be the opportunity to draw on the expertise of your colleagues in partner organisations, as well as appoint third-party suppliers.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you're:
  • able to demonstrate experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement, securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
  • experienced in managing complex external stakeholder and partner relationships, including working with local communities
  • a skilled communicator, with experience of managing complex and challenging situations with competing interests and a diverse range of people and communities
  • you're a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions with senior leaders
  • a leader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture
  • a Professional with technical knowledge and skills in project management demonstrated by a recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification or you will be able to demonstrate significant project management skills and experience, and be prepared to study towards the Project Management qualification (APM PMQ)
  • able to evidence ongoing Continuous Professional Development in your career to date
Interview date Mon 9th December in Rowallane House, Saintfield
