This role is a key member of the Property Leadership team for the portfolio, covering 4 sites across the London. From a conservation repair to a historic window, preparing a new Emergency Procedure, meeting a contractor to discuss security improvements and sourcing a contractor to deal with asbestos - no two days are the same for the Facilities and Support Services Manager. The portfolio consists of three small properties, Sutton House and Breakers Yard, Rainham Hall, 575 Wandsworth Road as well as Morden Hall Park with its busy café and garden centre.
The advertised salary is inclusive of an Outer London weighting allowance of £3,315 per annum
What it's like to work here
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead the Facilities & Business Services team. They include a facilities and business services co-ordinator, a business services coordinator and a facilities co-ordinator based at Morden Hall Park as well as a team of volunteers. You’ll also manage contractors who might be completing exterior decorations, servicing sewage plants or repairing bridges.
It’s an exciting time to work in the Morden portfolio with a number of projects underway or waiting for you to start including redevelopment of a outdoors team compound and workshops and maintenance of a historic snuff mill. You’ll be working closely alongside the building surveyor, curator and countryside and house teams.

Leading for compliance across the site, you'll ensure we're operating safely for our people and place. You'll manage building repairs and maintenance, including hard and soft facilities management. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the Morden portfolio has an effective and efficient business support service.
You'll maintain high quality conservation and presentation standards, and excellent facilities for our visitors, volunteers and staff.
Who we're looking for
- Strong understanding of Facilities Management
- Deep understanding of Operational Risk Management (health & safety, fire, security, emergency procedures)
- Awareness of historic buildings and conservation in a visitor-led environment
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other departments and multiple consultants
- Comfortable managing a team
- Able to prioritise multiple tasks and balance a changing workload
- Experience of managing budgets, finances, projects and contracts/contractors
