Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer sought, Bristol - District Energy Contractor seeking further design support.
Are you a talented Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services Engineering / District Heating Systems) with a passion for sustainable energy solutions? Company Overview: Our client are a leading District Energy Specialist that provides turnkey district energy solutions to councils, communities, and industries across the UK. With a focus on sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, they design, build, and operate integrated energy systems that provide heating, cooling, and power to large-scale developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimise mechanical systems for district energy projects, including heat exchangers, pipe networks, CHP plants, and renewable energy integration.
Conduct feasibility studies, energy modelling, and simulations to ensure design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (civil, electrical, and project management) to ensure seamless integration of systems.
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning and handover.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during project execution.
What We Are Looking For:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in mechanical design, particularly within the energy, utilities, or building services sector (experience with district energy systems is a plus).
Strong knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and engineering analysis tools.
