We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated SEMH Teacher (Art Specialism) - Secondary to join our team in South Woodham. This role is a unique opportunity for an educator with a passion for art and a commitment to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As an SEMH Teacher (Art Specialism) - Secondary, you will have the rewarding role of using art as a therapeutic and educational tool to engage and motivate students, helping them to build self-confidence and develop their artistic skills.
The SEMH Teacher (Art Specialism) - Secondary will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and accessible art lessons, tailored to meet the needs of students facing a variety of challenges. You will work in a supportive environment with a dedicated team, collaborating to create a positive learning atmosphere where students feel understood and valued. This role requires a resilient and empathetic SEMH Teacher (Art Specialism) - Secondary who can balance the demands of teaching art while addressing the individual needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver creative and accessible art lessons for secondary students with SEMH needs.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.
Collaborate with support staff, SEN coordinators, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.
Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive social and emotional growth.
