Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Tameside - Hyde
School: Mainstream Secondary School - Tameside - Hyde
Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Full-Time Long-Term
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Aspire People is seeking a compassionate and motivated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated SEN support team at a mainstream secondary school. The ideal candidate will work closely with one or more students with a variety of special educational needs, providing tailored support to enhance their learning experience in the classroom.
In partnership with this school, we are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of all students. The dedicated team promotes a culture of respect and empowerment, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with diverse learning needs in classroom settings.
* Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies (where necessary) to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teaching/SEN team.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience supporting pupils with learning needs is essential.
* Must have a DBS on the Update Service - or we can apply for one for you.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
