Job Description
Abatec are currently recruiting for a Project Manager, to join our client, an integrated design and build provider working in the water sector, who are working in partnership with Thames Water for AMP8.
The successful candidate will initially be based out of offices in Rickmansworth or Hampton with hybrid working available and all projects will be across the Thames Water region. The appointed individual will have previous experience working in the water sector in a similar role. This is an excellent opportunity, to join a reputable tier one contractor, who offer extensive career progression opportunities throughout the business.
You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager or Integrated Project Leads and your role will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning and putting to work of contracts to ensure they are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction
As Project Manager you will:
* Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force.
* Ensure that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, i.e from tender handover to final completion.
* Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
* Maintain the company’s reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers.
* Ensure that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
* Plan projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects.
* Ensure that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement of activities.
* Ensure at contract completion that all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available.
* Ensure that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified.
* Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates.
* Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance.
Our client requires a Project Manager with:
* Essential: Civil Engineering/Construction management degree
* Desirable: Chartered status or approaching.
* Evidence of relevant post-graduation practical training e.g., attendance on courses for Form of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, H & S Management etc.
* Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with ability to negotiate and administer
* NEC Project Manager Accreditation
* Site qualifications: CSCS card, SMSTS (5 day), First Aid at Work (4 day), National Water Hygiene card
Salary and benefits include:
* £65,000 - £75,000 per annum
