DCT Recruitment
Kitchen Designer
Job Location
Kirkby, United Kingdom
Job Description
DC T Recruitment are looking for a permanent Kitchen Designer to join one of our ever growing clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Greeting customers in showroom, discussing wish list, time frame, establishing budget, turning initial enquiry into a lead, documenting initial discussion.
2. Booking survey, and in store consultation preferably with no more than 1-week turnaround from point of initial enquiry. This would depend on customers’ schedule. Prioritise appointments based on time frame and urgency.
3. Advising client on design options based on their wish list, suggesting options that they may not have thought of, and explaining why certain things that they have asked for might not work, and offering an alternative, using my experience and expertise.
4. Site surveys – accurate scale drawn plans which ensure colleagues can refer to plans in case of absence, whilst visiting the client’s home, checking for obstacles, and things that may cause a problem i.e. electrics and plumbing, whilst, again discussing customer’s needs and requirements.
5. Preparing initial suggested plan based on discussions, ready before customers showroom appointment. I would also price initial plan on EQ to have an idea in my head of what the cost is likely to be so that I can confidently discuss budget and advise what the cost is likely to be if the question arises at this stage, which it often does. This enables the Designer to gauge if likely cost is close to customers budget so that we can advise and adjust, as necessary.
6. Create designs with ergonomics, aesthetics, ambience, lighting, manufacturers, and government guidelines, building regs where possible.
7. Costing designs - including furniture (Rational, Symphony Laura Ashley and jj own range) appliances, worktops, upstands, splashbacks, feature shelves and surfaces, accessories, lighting, misc.
8. Selling kitchens – To educate Clients with why they want the design that has made for them. This ensures that they enjoy using the product and being in the new environment when it is installed which creates many referrals. The client learns that the design suits them and how to use their kitchen to benefit them.
9. Once price is agreed, taking deposit payment, put together the contract, agree delivery and installation date.
PROCESSING THE CONTRACT

15. Chasing up missing items from orders.
