Job Description

Moog is looking for a Senior Supplier Lead to join the Operational Supply Chain team in Wolverhampton. At Moog, were focused on the customer and for us, this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high-profile.


As the Senior Supplier Lead, youll be responsible for the management of order placement in line with MRP requirements. Youll develop and maintain effective relationships with your designated suppliers and the supply chain team to achieve the operational requirements for the Wolverhampton facility.
You will be responsible for the surveillance and monitoring of suppliers as well as the evaluation of supplier performance including the identification and mitigation of risk. Using standard systems and processes youll provide effective purchase order management to ensure the current and verified delivery information is reflected.


Youll lead problem-solving activities to resolve relationship and performance issues, support and potentially lead recovery and improvement activities and ensure the effective and timely closure of root causes and corrective actions. Identification and pursuit of quality, cost, delivery, and lead time improvements all form part of your role.


Your ability to effectively collaborate and influence across multiple functions, geographical regions, and cultures to achieve success within the Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the coordination between Operational Supply Chain and Operations (Manufacturing, A&T) teams for alignment on demand for procured parts.
Influence key internal stakeholder relationships to drive delivery of the site Supply Chain objectives.
Provide oversight and point of escalation to the Operational Buyers and admin support.
Represent the Supply Chain team in site meetings such as SIOP, SQDCL, delivery meetings.
Deputise for the Supply Chain Manager in their absence.
An additional need for people management responsibilities may be required.
Develop and manage effective supplier relationships with a select number of suppliers to achieve business requirements.
Surveillance and monitoring of assigned suppliers.
Evaluation of supplier performance including the identification and mitigation of risk.
Provide effective purchase order management and placement to ensure current and verified delivery information is reflected using standard systems and processes.
Ensure the effective and timely closure of root causes and corrective actions.
Lead problem-solving activities to resolve issues affecting supplier relationships and supply chain performance.
Support and potentially lead supplier performance recovery & improvement activities.
There will be some expectations for UK and international travel.


Skills and experience:
A bachelors degree level education, preferred in the fields of Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business preferred but not essential.
Greater than 5 years of progressive experience in the field of Manufacturing or Supply Chain (preferably Aerospace).
Desired qualifications would include CIPS.
Highly experienced in planning and order placement to achieve the Operational Supply Chain requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate with, and influence, Operation Group staff, which is made up of many disciplines, at all management levels. This also includes communications with Moog's internal and external stakeholders. Communication being verbal, written and presentations.
Ability to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities.
Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Proven working knowledge of an MRP system such as SAP.
Knowledge in ITAR/EAR compliance would be advantageous.

Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
