Location: All-through School, Reading
Salary: Dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with a focus on behaviour management to join an inclusive, all-through school in Reading.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant specialising in behaviour management, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide targeted support for pupils who need additional guidance in managing their behaviour. You will play a key role in helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment across all age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils requiring additional behavioural guidance
Implement behaviour support strategies to improve pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral teams to develop individual behaviour plans
Help create and maintain a calm and positive atmosphere within the classroom and school
Support pupils in building positive relationships with peers and staff
Deliver tailored interventions that promote positive behaviour and self-regulation
Encourage and model appropriate behaviours, helping pupils to develop coping strategiesIdeal Candidate:
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a behaviour support or LSA role
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques
Patient, empathetic, and resilient with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of SEND, especially relating to behaviour, is an advantageQualifications:
A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or behaviour management is desirable
Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent); additional relevant training is a plus
Experience within a school or youth work setting will be highly valuedWhat We Offer:
