Job Description
Are you a Geotechnical Design Engineer with over 5 years of experience?
Do you have experience working on major infrastructure projects?
Salary: circa £45,000 to £60,000
Location: Harrogate, Manchester or Reading. In office 3 days per week
Requirements:
BEng/MEng degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
Minimum 5 yeras of proven experience in geotechnical design engineering.
Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, WALLAP, Slope/W).
Chartered preferred.
Experience working collaboratively in teams and mentoring junior engineers
Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to manage complex ground engineering challenges.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed geotechnical design for rail infrastructure projects, including foundations, slopes, earthworks, and retaining structures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide geotechnical input on project designs.
Carry out ground investigations and interpret data to inform design and construction methodologies.
Assess geotechnical risks and provide practical solutions to mitigate issues.
Prepare high-quality technical reports, design calculations, and documentation for project submissions
