Dawlish TA / Teaching Assistant - Communication

Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and supportive specialist school?
A talented Teaching Assistant who is able to use Makaton and / or PECS effectively is required in a Dawlish based SEND School for children and young people with communication difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD.
The post will be working closely with a small group of children and often on a 1:1 basis for children who need extra support in an Early Years Foundation Stage class, supporting with early learning, communication and social development. This will involve assisting with work set by the class teacher and working as part of a team, with other assistants in the class to support one another.
To become part of this team you will be:
An experienced TA or LSA with SEND experience and Makaton or PECS
A warm and caring individual who truly puts the children first
Able to provide support to children with varying challenges
Used to providing personal care and support
A lovely individual with a sunny disposition and a friendly smile
Able to work as part of a team
As a SEND TA / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teaching Assistant through TeacherActive you will receive:
