Engineering Project Buyer
Wolverhampton
Permanent
£35-45k (depending on level of experience)
EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for an Engineering Project Buyer to join a precision engineering company located in Wolverhampton working on a permanent basis.

The company has vast manufacturing capabilities which include Welding & Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, NDT, Quality etc. so they have most processes available in-house which makes this a very exciting and dynamic opportunity as you will be exposed to all areas.
As a business, they specialise in the manufacture of bespoke, one-off components which often have never been manufactured before, therefore, you have the opportunity to work with truly unique builds that are one of a kind and may never be manufactured again.
Due to continued success and further growth, our client requires additional support within their purchasing department.
This role will predominantly support with supply chain activities related to the procurement of parts and materials.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Purchasing parts and materials in line with sales order requirements
* Review lead times and potential bottlenecks ensuring an effective strategy is in place to avoid any delays
* Manage 3rd party/sub contract requirements
* Run and manage frequent reports such as ; OTIF, JIT, KPIs, Technical queries, Market trends etc
* Review data to ensure targets are being achieved
* Manage the supplier and subcontractor performance reviews providing data to senior leadership teams
* Develop strong supplier relationships
* Focus on ensuring customer satisfaction bt ensuring they are kept up to date in relation to the order progress
* Update MRP/ERP tracking systems
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
* Strong background within a similar role
* Experience of working within a precision engineering/critical component manufacturing markets such as; Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence, SubSea, Automotive etc
* 3+ years experience of purchasing machined parts, sub-contract machining, fabrications etc
* Demonstrable knowledge surrounding project timelines, cycle times and manufacturing requirements
* Ability to work to set budgets and ensuring targets are achieved
* Understanding of engineered parts, materials and components
* Contract terms and negotiation experience
* Confidence managing supplier relationships and monitoring overall performance
