Job Description
Broster Buchanan are hiring for a Head of Tax for a FTSE-listed manufacturing group based in the North-West of England.
This is an initial 6 months assignment to cover the Head of Tax role as they are seconded onto a project; It will be for 6 months minimum but could easily be extended longer.
The role comes with a salary of circa £90k-£120k plus benefits package; Day rate applicants may also be considered (inside IR35).
Ideally looking for someone who can work from the Manchester office 2 days per week, but greater flexibility might be possible for the right candidate.
The role-holder will work closely with the Director of Tax & Treasury, the Head of Tax, Group Tax Manager and outsource tax partners and will be ultimately responsible for all tax affairs for the group.
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for all general tax matters across the group.
Provision of day-to-day tax support to local markets as well as maintaining tax technical awareness in relevant territories.
Review & support with interim and year end reporting including the preparation of tax disclosures for consolidated group accounts with support from outsourced advisors.
Liaise with External auditors as part of interim and year end reporting.
Ensure compliance with local indirect taxes e.g., preparation of Plastic Packaging Returns, support for VAT returns prepared by Finance colleagues.
Support with / review quarterly group tax payments in the UK as well as UK tax cashflow and tax accounting/balances.
Support development of Group Transfer Pricing Policy and Processes.
Support the design and management of tax efficient cross-border cash movements into/out of and around the group.
Manage relationships with external advisors including HMRC, auditors and tax advisors.
Support with any local or overseas tax enquiries / uncertain tax positions.
Support with Tax Governance e.g., Senior Accounting Officer, BRR+ process & Corporate Criminal Offence.
Support with projects as required. They are looking for someone with experience of working at a senior level in the tax function of a large group, ideally with experience with consolidated group tax disclosures.
Experience with indirect tax and employment tax in addition to corporation tax would be beneficial.
The business are looking to bring someone on board quickly so applicants need to be immediately available or available on short notice.
