General Foreman - Responsibilities & Skills
Harker Energy Enablement Substation
The role involves supporting the construction and civil engineering works on this critical infrastructure project. Responsibilities will include overseeing site activities, coordinating with the Works Manager, and ensuring that safety, quality, and timeline standards are strictly followed. The project focuses on energy enablement infrastructure, requiring attention to detail and a solid background in substation or similar energy-related construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* The candidate will be expected to work closely with the Works Manager to coordinate and supervise all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, with a particular focus on drainage and utility works.
* Maintain regular communication with the Works Manager to ensure project objectives, timelines, and quality standards are met.
* Oversee day-to-day site operations, reporting directly to the Works Manager to align on project milestones and adjust plans as needed.
* Order materials and equipment in consultation with the Works Manager, ensuring availability aligns with project demands.
* Manage budgets and expenditures, keeping the Works Manager informed of financial status and any necessary adjustments.
* Conduct equipment inspections and oversee maintenance to ensure peak operational performance.
* Complete and submit all required documentation, keeping the Works Manager updated on progress and project status.
Essential Skills:
* Effective Communication: Capable of providing clear instructions and maintaining an open line of communication with the Works Manager and team.
* Time Management: Skilled at prioritising tasks to stay aligned with the project timeline, working collaboratively with the Works Manager to address any schedule adjustments.
* Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate the team, fostering a productive working environment in line with the Works Manager’s objectives.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using computers and relevant software, with the adaptability to quickly learn new tools as directed by project needs.
* Decision-Making: Confident in making informed decisions on-site, with a commitment to consult the Works Manager on critical resource or schedule changes.
Rate:
£250-£300 per day, depending on experience (PAYE Umbrella/CIS)
