The role
The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Team is looking to reinforce its antitrust capacities by hiring an antitrust counsel who is eager to expand his/her scope and venture into anticorruption compliance.
The role is based in the Roquette Group headquarters in La Madeleine, Lille, France. However, the position offers the possibility to work from home 3 days a week and the office is located within walking distance from Lille Flandres and Lille Europe train stations so Paris / Brussels-based applicants should definitely consider the position.
Our Team
As part of the legal department, the E&C team is in constant connection with all the other Group functions (sales / purchase / manufacturing / audit / finance / etc.) all around the world.
In addition to putting in place a Roquette’s Group-wide compliance program, developing policies, and implementing processes to support and drive a culture of ethics and integrity, the E&C team also enables Roquette to proactively address compliance issues.
The scope of the E&C team covers anticorruption & anti-bribery, competition law, international trade sanctions, personal data protection. We also provide assistance on some sustainability and human rights issues.
Your personality and talents will make the difference to:
- Promote and embed the Roquette Values and Roquette Code of Conduct
- Provide strategic antitrust advice and counsel on all aspects of antitrust law
- Coordinate merger control and foreign investment filings in the framework of M&A transactions
- Manage responses to agency requests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other legal teams but also the Strategy, Sales, Purchase, Finance, Audit, etc.
- Monitor and advise regarding legal developments in the field of antitrust and competition law
- Create training and communication content to advertise competition law rules to most exposed functions
- Support the Group’s anti-corruption and anti-bribery program, with particular emphasis on compliance with the Sapin II law and implementation of the AFA Guidelines and proactively address compliance issues.
- Develop materials and activities for Compliance initiatives
- Participate in planning, execution and reporting processes of compliance reviews and build out essential reports and KPIs
What will we love about you?
First of all, you are comfortable in an international environment, and you have excellent communication and pedagogy skills. You are proactive in identifying opportunities and taking the lead in implementing new ideas and solutions.
But also...
- You hold a Masters Degree (Bac+5) in Competition Law / Economic law / International law / LLM / Business school
- Passed the Bar in one or more jurisdictions
- English is a must, native English speaker preferred. French is a plus and other languages are always beneficial.
- You have international experience with significant exposure to working within and across different jurisdictions.
- You hold a 4-6 years of experience specialized in antitrust and competition law, preferably with experience in private practice
- You are eager to expand your scope to anticorruption / ABC compliance matters
- You are autonomous, rigorous, display intellectual curiosity, team spirit and initiative.
- You know how to communicate and adapt your communication depending on your stakeholder (adapt speech to different targets)
- You are good with PowerPoint, Teams and other Microsoft tools
- You are willing to travel when required (approx. 15% of the time)
