Senie & Associates, P.C.
Legal Associate
Job Location
Job Description
Senie and Associates, a Cape Cod land use firm with a team approach, is looking to hire part-time or full-time legal associates. Specializing in land use and land-based litigation, our matters include local permitting of land use projects, appeals of municipal decisions to the trial court and briefing and arguing before the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Our cases involve nuisance law, easements and rights of way, boundary disputes, restrictive covenants and all aspects of the use of land by a property owner or developer. We often represent neighbors with concerns about nearby current or proposed uses and structures. Our firm regularly appears before local Planning Boards, Zoning Boards of Appeals, Conservation Commissions and other municipal agencies on behalf of our clients.
In the field of land use, important decisions are made at the local level by community boards and commissions. Lawyers who become comfortable with the municipal regulatory process can accomplish their client’s goals and gain a sense of fulfillment as properties are developed or redeveloped in a manner that fits well into existing neighborhoods.
Position
Our firm is looking to hire full or part-time attorneys who are familiar with or are willing to learn this area of the law. New admittees to the Massachusetts bar are welcome to apply, as are attorneys considering retiring to the Cape. We offer a flexible environment, including working primarily from home, although a connection to Cape Cod is important.
Qualifications
Associates must have excellent writing skills and be capable of full analysis of matters, getting into the weeds as needed to provide excellent service to our clients. We strive to give our associates full assignments that can provide a sense of accomplishment of wholistic tasks. As our clients are our bosses, excellent personal skills in dealing with clients are of the highest importance. A positive attitude is a must, as is critical and independent thinking. One of the firm’s strengths is our cooperative approach that allows debate and brainstorming. All around the firm’s conference table have a voice. Join us and help shape the growth of land use law on Cape Cod.
Compensation
Compensation to be discussed with the applicant and will be commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include full professional liability insurance and eligibility to participate in the Firm’s 401(k) plan.
