Job DetailsA large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's. 13 Weeks, Every other Weekend/Holiday. Open Heart Trained.
Job RequirementsBLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Department: ICU RN.# of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16.Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for Peds.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation.
Schedule InformationShifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling.Weekend Requirements: Every other.Holiday Requirements: Rotating based on weekend group.Floating Requirements: Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3 shifts.
Unit Specific InformationAre RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent.Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret.
