Piling Design & Estimation Engineer

ConsultANZ is seeking a Design & Estimating Engineer for a leading piling and deep foundations firm in Sydney! Join a dynamic team, work on groundbreaking projects, and drive innovation in the construction industry.

• $80k - $100k base + super, negotiable based on experience
• Full-time permanent position
• Based in Sydney, NSW

Main Duties

Your responsibilities are, such as but not limited to:

• Liaise with the operations team to ensure design requirements are met.
• Develop and design piling plans based on project specifications and soil conditions.
• Evaluate geotechnical reports to select appropriate piling solutions.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labor.
• Recommend cost-effective piling solutions while ensuring safety and integrity.
• Conduct project investigations and use design software like Wallap, Piglet, and Plaxis.
• Create and maintain Excel templates for cost estimation.
• Design and estimate various piling methodologies and retaining walls.
• You will report to the pre-contracts manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate will bring to the role:

• A tertiary qualification and 2-5 years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Experience working with well-established contractors or large design firms.
• Proficiency in design/engineering software such as MS Office, Wallap, Piglet, and ideally Plaxis 2D/3D or similar.
• Strong estimation skills, with a focus on cost analysis and budget management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a practical-minded, hands-on approach.
• Ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams
