Job Title: Coastal Geomorphologist
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 experience dependant
Location: Greater Portsmouth, UK
Type: Permanent, Full-Time or Part-Time (Hybrid working available)
About the Role:
With increasing demand across diverse and impactful projects, our client is looking for a Coastal Geomorphologist to join their Geomorphology team. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of projects, from habitat creation and coastal adaptation strategies to nature-based solutions and traditional coastal engineering. You will conduct geomorphology fieldwork and desk studies and play a key role in leading restoration and habitat creation initiatives. Collaboration with environmental and engineering teams is essential, ensuring projects are delivered with innovation, sustainability, and climate resilience at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert coastal geomorphology advice to internal teams.
Lead projects and small teams, ensuring delivery within time, budget, and quality parameters.
Conduct site assessments for habitat restoration, coastal, and estuarine changes.
Undertake feasibility studies and baseline coastal process assessments.
Collaborate closely with teams in coastal modelling, environment, and engineering.
Analyse datasets, GIS, and model outputs; prepare technical reports.
Engage with stakeholders and present findings in client meetings and workshops.
Support tender preparations and manage subcontractor relationships.
Contribute to both UK and international projects as needed.What Our Client is Looking For:
Proven experience in coastal geomorphology and a passion for environmental and water-related projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to balance priorities, work independently, and mentor junior staff.
A science or geography-based degree (or equivalent) with relevant work experience.
Chartered status or a commitment to work towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM, CGeog).Essential Skills Required:
Understanding of process-based coastal geomorphology.
Experience in multi-disciplinary design teams and site-based geomorphology assessments.
Familiarity with GIS and coastal modelling data analysis.
Proficiency in project management and report writing.
Full UK Driving Licence.Desirable Skills:
Experience in tender preparation, policy development, Environmental Impact Assessment, mentoring, and contract management.What Our Client Offers:
