Job Summary:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers, contributing to the commercial success of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
* Manage tender processes, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.
* Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Monitor and control project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
* Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to provide commercial advice and resolve financial issues.
* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction industry.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and contract administration.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, CATO).
* Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work under pressure.
* Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
