Context:

The Health & Safety Performance & Reporting Lead is a senior role within the HSE Team and reports directly to the Head of Health, Safety and Environment.

This role is vital in helping make a step change in our approach to Safety and Performance for our business activities. Partnering with the Management and Operational teams, you will take a proactive and coaching approach to inspire our people in its delivery of compliance and improvement. This role will be required to embed a culture of performance and build capability to manage Health and Safety effectively.


What you will do:

  • Set up a reporting framework for all parties from user to the Board and generate regular performance reports and distribute accordingly to track and inform performance.
  • Examine data and provide relevant and innovative insights, including prediction of trends.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting packs to help align business target setting objectives.
  • Work with Health & Safety Business Partners & Operational teams to guide the business in the use and interpretation of Health & Safety performance.
  • Drive meaningful and timely discussion with stakeholders by performing data analytics on multiple initiatives to identify trends and performance improvement opportunities
  • Use tools to monitor emerging and changes to existing risks and update risk reports regularly.
  • Proactively and continuously scan the external market for industry, emerging and unanticipated risks (e.g. changing legislation or industry standards) and the internal business to support the identification of Point and Emerging Risks.
  • Be the primary interface at key industry events and forums on behalf of the organisation.
  • Maintain health and safety management standards on the MBNL shared estate throughout a period of increasing scale and complexity
  • Continually align health and safety management standards across MBNL’s Shareholders.


What we are looking for:

  • Good understanding of site health and safety risks, management controls and legal standards.
  • Awareness of health and safety indicators to drive performance and inspire change.
  • Strong ability to communicate and act professionally.
  • A track record of bringing best practice into an organisation and using this to drive improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver to time, quality and cost
  • Experience of working within an organisation maintaining ISO 45001 certification.


Nice to have:

  • Relevant health and safety qualification / training e.g. NEBOSH
  • Internal Auditor training
  • A background in working within Client side of construction or within an asset infrastructure organisation would be advantageous.
