What will you be doing?
You'll be providing procurement support to the Head of Procurement in this procurement transformation project. This organisation is formalising procurement for the first time so there is plenty to do and you'll play a key role in ensuring the new policies and processes are implemented correctly. You'll be running tender processes under PCR2015 regulations, engaging with key stakeholders to fully understand requirements and negotiating the best possible deals for the business. The role is focused on the management of procurement rather than people, so you won't be getting involved in day to day people management, more providing the much needed additional procurement knowledge and experience that a new function needs to be successful.
Who will you be doing it for?
You’ll be joining a well established, successful private sector consultancy (on a permanent contract) and will immediately take up post as Procurement Manager in one of their key clients based in Norwich, initially for a period of 2 years with the option to extended for a further two (should the client not decide to take up the additional two years you'll be reassigned to other work within the consultancy). The consultancy you’ll be working for are an established provider of frameworks and procurement services to a range of public sector organisations and have a great reputation in the industry, as well as a proven track record of developing their people, both through coaching and industry recognised training qualifications.
What do you need to bring to the table?
To be successful in this role it's expected that you'll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience working as a Procurement Officer/Category Manager/Procurement Manager or similar
- Proven experience running tenders under PCR2015/OJEU guidelines
- An engaging character with the ability to quickly build rapport and foster excellent working relationships across all functions
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willing and able to be onsite at the client's site in Norwich 1-2 days a week
