Job Opportunity: Gear Grinder
Hours: 44 hours per week
Shifts: (Monday-Thursday 6 AM - 4 PM, Friday 6 AM - 12 PM; start time can be adjusted to 7 AM)
Contract: 6 months +
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Gear Grinder to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to grind gear teeth to drawing specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components.
* Write and interpret instructions and procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
* Control machines and processes.
* Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
* Analyze information to find the best solutions to problems.
* Maintain clear and honest communication at all times.
* Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental instructions.
* Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
* Support all relevant 5S activities and report any near misses.
* Ensure proper disposal of waste and report any job-related issues to the line manager.
* Undertake any additional responsibilities within your skills and abilities as required by the business.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Recognised engineering qualification preferred .
* Practical, mechanically oriented with good problem-solving skills.
* Experience with Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines is ideal-we need someone who can hit the ground running.

* Self-motivated
* Ability to work in a physically demanding role
Performance Indicators:
* Successful completion of tasks within the allocated time with zero faults.
