Job Description

My client are a London-based design studio specialising in identity, typography and creative director across all platforms - looking for a top Account Manager to join their team on a 1 year contract that has a strong potential to go perm after.


Ideally you would have worked at the likes of Koto, Design Studio, Pentagram etc!

The role will have responsibility/shared responsibility for:


Day-to-Day project management

o Owning and managing the overarching account management of all studio projects,

commissions, and collaborations

o Owning the total account management process for each project

o Understanding the agreed process, phases, checkpoints, and deliveries for each project

o Scale from top account project management to detail quickly and effectively

o Prioritise and deliver account management needs and/or support the Creative

Process, People, and Talent Manager and teams to do this

o Inputting, updating and delivery of “work planning” document(s) and tools each day

o Inputting, and leading (when necessary) the daily planning/standing meeting and

ensuring key team members are present

o Leading decision making on project priorities and dependencies

o Coordinating meetings with Creative Director and Creative Process, People, and Talent

Manager

o Day-to-day internal communications meetings, email, and phone calls

o Day-to-day client facing communications meetings, email, and phone calls


Day-to-Day workflow planning and management

o Agreeing daily deliverables and check points internally with Creative Process, People,

and Talent Manager, designers and/or supporting them to do this

o Ensuring deliverables and check points and client expectations are met or coming up

with contingency plans with Creative Process, People, and Talent Manager that are

acceptable to clients

o Managing diaries internally and on client side


Planning and scheduling management

o Communicating and validating the schedule and plan internally and client facing led by

Creative Process, People, and Talent Manager and agreed by you with clients

o Plotting out key meetings, workshops or checkpoints and communicating this internally

and client facing led by Creative Process, People, and Talent Manager and agreed by

you with clients

o Finding solutions to project clashes or pinch points in planning and scheduling led by

Creative Process, People, and Talent Manager and agreed by you with clients

o Looking at individual and collective plans and schedules to ensure balance between

projects and across the studio (whilst at the same time delivering on client needs) led by

Creative Process, People, and Talent Manager and agreed by you with clients


Budget and project finance management

o Deliver clear project budgets, investments and business agreements for every project

o Addressing any concerns/needs on budgets, investments, and business agreements

with client

o Deliver invoice and payment schedules for every project

o Weekly review of project budgets and finances reporting this to the Studio Director

o Ensuring data is captured in Harvest and/or other project management software

o Monthly review of project finances with the Studio Director

o Ensuring invoices and raised in line with checkpoints and/or deliverables

o Red flagging problems with budgets or project finances quickly and effectively and

proactively managing solutions

o Day-to-day internal communications meetings, email, and phone calls

o Day-to-day client facing communications meetings, email, and phone calls


Successful client delivery and meeting internal/external deadlines

o Champion excellence in everything we delivery to clients working with Creative Process,

People, and Talent Manager and teams to do this

o Understanding clients and their cultures

o Ability to balance creative and practical needs from an account management

perspective and responding to internal and external energies around this

o Excellent client facing skills

o Ability to communicate effectively in a professional yet relaxed manner

o Ability to resolve client concerns, needs, and demands from a account management

perspective with a can-do attitude, driven by constructive resolutions and minimising

negative impact to the process and client relationship

o Ensuring deliveries and check points are met and expectations managed with clients

o Effective contingency or crisis management and/or asking for support to do this

working closely with the Creative Director and Creative Process, People, and Talent

Manager to do this


Driving account development, new business initiatives, project proposals and planning

o Overseeing all aspects of account contact from Creative Director to team to ensure it

meets with excellence

o Take ownership of the commercial development of the studio with a clean plan for

account retention, account, development and new business

o Regular reporting on the commercial development plan with the Creative Director and

Creative Process, People, and Talent Manager

o Seeing the potential in reactive and proactive opportunities, selling in services, and

“bolt-on” projects to current and new clients

o Owning, developing, and delivering credentials and credentials pitches, documents and

decks

o Owning, developing, and delivering studio commercial proposals

o Owning, developing, and delivering tenders and tender processes

o Informing process and adjusting process from an accounts management perspective to

ensure it is manageable or adjusting it to make it commercially viable or meet with client

expectations

o Drafting and sense checking initial schedules with to ensure it is manageable or

adjusting it to make it commercially viable or meet with client expectations

o Sense checking initial resourcing levels with Creative Process, People, and Talent

Manager

o Leading project budgets and finance projections and updating Creative Process,

People, and Talent Manager on a regular basis

o Being a “face” of the studio

o Championing and leading good client relationships and enduring collaborations


Legal

o Ownership of all commercial legal agreements

o Where/when required manage and engage in the day-to-day project legals

requirements

o Ensure you and the teamwork within, maintain, and protect the Intellectual

Property of the studio and our clients

o Support the Trademark Protections on a project-by-project basis (with Creative

Process, People, and Talent Manager)

o Manage the relationship with Nabarro
