Role
We are looking to bolster our client’s commercial team within their UK Rail business unit with the appointment of a Commercial Manager. The Commercial Lead will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk.

Key Responsibilties
* Liaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies.
* Cost and value management for project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place
* Financial reporting for project
* Change management for project: record change and allocate responsibility. Evaluate/recover any change that is not the companies risk/liability (including recovery from 3rd parties.)
* Risk and opportunity management for project: management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures
* Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge
Qualifications/Training
* Membership of a Professional Institution - such as SCSI or RICS
* Behavioural Based Safety (BBS)
* Minor project work – building and civils
* Work winning
* Reviewing T&C’s
* Managing and reporting on a portfolio of work
* Developing a team
