Job Description
A leading construction company require a Senior Quantity Surveyor at this exciting time of growth. After 6 months in the role their is the opportunity to work from home two days per week.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
What you will be doing:
• Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive team. Ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
• Vet contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations
• Produce Commercial Risk Register for each contract. Monitor risk and assist in implementation of agreed mitigation measures
• Prepare and issue enquiries for Equipment and Sub-Contract packages. Vet quotations commercially andnegotiate price and terms with vendors. Issue resultant Purchase Orders
• Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions
• Measure, submit and agree Variations, Loss & Expense and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts
• Monitor on-site record keeping. Prepare and issue Notices in accordance with contractual provisions
• Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles. Attend Contract Review Meetings
• Authorisation and coding of Suppliers’ and Sub-Contractors’ Invoices and submission to Finance for payment
• Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to Sub-Contractors
Who we are looking for:
• A senior quantity surveyor with extensive commercial project experience
• Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying
• Member of Profession Institution (e.g. MRICS or similar)
• Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness/ acumen includng construction law and contract management
