Contracts Manager
Boyd Recruitment are currently recruiting for a medium sized family run Steel Fabricator based in the East of Scotland.
Our client has been in operation for over 30 years and have built a successful business with a stable client base including frameworks both private sector and local authority.
Due to expansion and succession planning, they are looking to engage a contracts manager with the opportunity to grow into a senior role within the organisation.
Our client delivers a diverse selection of products including:
Bridgeworks
Canopies
Balustrades
Structural steelwork
Walkovers
The Job
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the general management and commercial success of the Steel Fabrication Business. You will be responsible for a management team of around 5 and a labour workforce of about 30.
You will be responsible for the profitability of the business. This will be managed through meticulous CVR management, communication with your team and your diplomatic approach to variations and client requirements.
The business is at a comfortable size, organic growth is always a possibility, but increasing profitability through efficiency is always a company target.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
Demonstrable management experience in the Steel Fabrication or Civil engineering contracting market.
Experience in managing a small team
Experience of managing multi sites
Experience of managing CVR / Cost and budget management
Be an excellent communicator and lead teams to a common goal
Be willing to work across central Scotland
Have a can-do attitude and work additional hours when required.
