The Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for a Compliance Advisor to join our Land Recovery team, a business acquired by AIUK as part of our wider circular economy strategy in June 2024. Land Recovery is a long-established multifaceted business operating in the aggregates, recycling, earthworks, civils, rail and plant hire industries.
As a Compliance Advisor - Land Recovery, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and policies. Your contributions will be crucial in supporting sustainable land management and recovery efforts across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the building of the quality, safety and environmental management systems in line with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and the wider business management system.
- Support in the collating and monitoring of quality, safety and environmental performance KPIs, producing concise reports as evidence for the annual management review and to meet requirements of other accreditation and certification bodies.
- Represent the business, alongside the Safety & Compliance team, during external audits and authority visits.
- Carry out regular Internal Audits, in line with the audit programme.
- Have a sound understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation in both Rail and Non-Rail sectors to ensure compliance across these areas.
- Support in the promotion of a positive, culture across the business.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven record of success in compliance with strong understanding and exposure to the ISO, RISQS, FORS.
- Experience in the rail industry (desirable).
- IRCA internal auditor or equivalent (desirable).
- Flexibility with the ability to work to deadlines and determination to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion (essential).
- NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
- IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management (desirable).
- Experience of Alcumus Sypol COSHH management system (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel to sites around the UK. (essential).
- IT literate in Microsoft 365 applications (essential).
