1st Step Solutions are looking for a Mechanical Site Manager in SE London. We are seeking experienced Site Managers that have a track record within the commercial sector on projects with values between £5-£10million.
The Role:
This position is under the supervision of the Project/Contracts Manager and will require daily communication with suppliers, Site Supervisors, Project Managers, EHSQ Advisors, and Subcontractors.
Duties:
* Supervise the setup, initiation, and upkeep of mechanical systems within buildings.
* Confirm that all necessary permits are secured.
* Perform inspections and tests to detect and address mechanical problems.
* Collaborate with primary contractors and the client's on-site team.
* Ensure adherence to EHSQ standards, RAMS, PPE, and other regulations on-site.
* Coordinate the hiring of equipment, tools, and workforce.
* Oversee and direct labor and subcontractors.
* Handle all relevant external communications.
* Procure daily site materials.
* Keep progress reports updated with the latest information.
* Manage the Document Management System effectively.
* Organise project-specific timelines.
* Relay any changes to the project team.
* Ensure consistent quality reporting and monitoring throughout the project.
Skills and Experience Required:
* An industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above.
* SMSTS.
* Previous experience as a Mechanical Site Manager.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience.
* Ability to influence and drive positive attitudes and behaviours with regards to site health and safety.
* Experience dealing with mechanical sub-contractors.
* IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
* Willingness to do some travel if/when required
