Job Description
My client is a leading contractor specializing in infrastructure projects, and we are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team for a large-scale water project in North England. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work on critical water infrastructure, overseeing mechanical installations and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems across multiple sites.
Job Description:
As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical aspects of water treatment facilities and distribution systems. This includes supervising mechanical teams, ensuring installations are carried out safely and on schedule, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations. You will travel to multiple sites across North England, with travel and accommodation costs fully covered.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and supervise mechanical installations, maintenance, and commissioning on water infrastructure projects (e.g., pumping stations, treatment plants, pipeline systems).
* Lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards.
* Coordinate mechanical work across multiple project sites, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Review project plans, technical drawings, and specifications, ensuring that all work is completed in line with the required standards.
* Conduct regular site inspections to assess the progress of mechanical work and ensure quality control.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise on-site, providing technical solutions as needed.
* Ensure that mechanical installations are completed on time and within budget, managing resources effectively.
* Maintain accurate records, including inspection reports, work progress, and any changes to project plans.
* Ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary tools, training, and PPE to perform their roles safely.
Qualifications:
* Valid CSCS card
* SMSTS
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role, with experience in water or other infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and their installation, maintenance, and operation in large-scale projects.
* Experience managing teams and coordinating work across multiple sites.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
* Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., HNC, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across North England.
