Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer
Location: Portsmouth
Role Type: Permanent, Full-time
Job Description
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will manage electrical, control, and instrumentation (EC&I) aspects of our projects, working closely with our team to oversee all stages from design to implementation. You will handle tender preparation, project planning, design, and specification work, ensuring quality standards, compliance, and efficient project delivery.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project teams to optimize workflows and maintain profitability.
Oversee EC&I design elements, conducting risk assessments, procurement, and quality checks.
Coordinate with contractors, clients, and other disciplines for smooth project execution.
Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality standards, and client specifications.
Complete project documentation, costings, specifications, and commissioning paperwork.
Conduct site surveys and technical assessments, supporting field tests and quality monitoring.
Develop equipment specifications, schedules, and drawings as required.
Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring compliance with NICEIC standards.
Ensure safety compliance, use of PPE, and support OH&S objectives.
Perform quality checks and provide technical support to team members.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3 years' EC&I or electrical project experience, ideally in the UK water sector.
Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in CAD and computer literacy.
Practical field experience essential, with in-depth knowledge of CDM and health and safety.
Positive, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a "can-do" attitude.
Valid UK driver's license and CSCS card (preferred).
Confined spaces training (preferred).
