Advanced Apprentice Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Description
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician Apprentice you will conduct preventative and reactive maintenance and fault finding, and use a variety of tools and equipment to safely install electrical equipment and systems. You will support production including the interrogation of electronic or programmable devices such as Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and drives; replacement of sensors and motors, and support the running of the facilities department including carrying out electrical testing, i.e. fixed wiring tests, earth continuity or bonding tests, inspection of substation and distribution equipment.

Entry requirements
England and Wales
- Age 16+
- Five+ GCSEs grade A*-C / 9-4, including English and maths, as well as a Science subject for engineering or technical roles. Please note: some of our trade roles require 5+ GCSEs grade A*-E / 9-3.
Scotland
- Five National 4’s at Grade C or above, including English, Maths (excluding Application of Maths) & Science/Technical. 5 Group awards at National 4 including English and Maths (excluding Application of Maths) & Science or Technical subject.
Some roles may also require additional qualifications or UCAS points.

Export Control/Security
Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
