Job Description

Position: EU Purchase Specialist for Indirect Commodities_Production Equipment Spec.

Reports to: EU Indirect Purchasing Manager

The work environment is fast-paced and very international. We are looking for individuals who can see the big picture but also dive into details and get things done. In this role, you will be working with different indirect commodities but mainly focused on the production equipment.


The candidate can be based at any of our legal entities in Europe: France (Douai), the UK (Sunderland), or Germany (Munich), but preferrable in the UK - Sunderland.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing the indirect services and commodities covering all European sites e.g. UK, France, Spain, Germany etc.
  • Develop a market intelligence program across the region that benchmarks key industry indicators/market prices to ensure accurate price forecasting and risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain strong connections with Global Purchasing and Local Purchasing to support strategies and to develop suppliers both regionally and locally.
  • Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted suppliers deliver required and committed service levels, acting as key escalation contact for EU sites operational issues managed by Local teams.
  • Identify, and engage EU vendors; develop requests for information/quotations (RFI-RFQ); align plant functional needs (in coordination with Global leaders) to support TdC activities i.e. cost reduction YOY -5 to -15%, payment conditions improvements, catalog discounted rebates, …etc and contractual finalisation.
  • Ensure timely implementation and communications resulting from EU negotiations to required business partners.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers to undertake performance reviews driving improvement activities.
  • Work cross-functionally to establish QCD targets, and objectives and monitor/report KPIs to local management, EU, and Global Leaders


Requirements:

  • Degree University qualification is essential.
  • CIPS or MCIPS is preferred for this role.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI, SAP
  • Travel will be required within the EU.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Language fluent in English is essential (C1 level).


Regarding the background experience, we would like to find people with:

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment of at least 4 years covering supplier engagement, negotiation, and cost reductions.
  • Strong negotiator to help influence local functions and ability to work to tight deadlines and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills are crucial to this role, to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective analytical skills to evaluate commodity market trends.
  • Ability to investigate new supply markets to assess existing and new supplier capabilities to further strengthen cost reductions and supply rationalization.
  • Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and a willingness for continuous improvement.
